I had the chance to design and implement the website for a small bookshop in Norderstedt.
The shop itself is provided by the wholesaler and cannot be customized. Still the new website enables a whole different user experience before linking to the shop. In addition to news and information about the shop and its team, users can also find a selection of book recommendations. In times of a shop closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic this website is a small step for the team to stay in touch with their customers and supply them with their expertise.

For a small book store it's always a challenge to reach potential customers more effectively. Many people aren’t even aware that the shop has an online store – especially the older target group of a book store. So another goal was to attract a younger target group. As books are colorful and diverse, I chose a design with plenty of whitespace and a muted color palette.

Since there was no budget to hire a professional photographer it was fun for me as a hobby photographer to take some pictures of the bookshop and include them on the website.
